If you want to achieve on a global scale, then whether you’re in business or in sport you need a team of people around you. No one does this by themselves. There is, however, a level beyond engagement that makes a difference.
In team sports, it’s obvious that everyone needs to be engaged with the mission of the team. Too often, people tell rather than ask. This simple change can make a massive difference to engagement, provided you listen to the answer.
The concept of being in flow was first written about a few thousand years ago in the i-Ching. We can use the Taoist model of the eight combinations of yin and yang to find our own flow.
Fully Functional Physiology is the level where most athletes are coached, but with some surprising omissions. In business, rarely are senior people coached on their physiology, despite the positive impact on their performance. We pretend that it’s all ok, so no one gets offended.
